Please note that OS X on this model is only supported up to version 10.7.5 (Lion). OS X can be configured to use the UK keyboard, meaning that pressing the # (shift + 3) types a £ symbol.
This model is supplied with a US (American) keyboard layout, which is extremely similar to the UK (English) keyboard, but has a # sign in place of the £ symbol.
